writing

In addition to on-going screenplay writing projects, Harley writes a weekly newspaper column and a wide range of magazine articles, short stories and autobiographical non-fiction.

Harley's Humor column appears every Saturday in The Red Deer Advocate. It's a light-hearted, sometimes cynical, sometimes insightful, bitter-sweet perspective on the best and worst of modern life from a baby-boomer's perspective.

From coping with the seemingly random fluctuations in the price of gasoline, or trying to figure out the latest Smartphone, to living through the trauma of getting a root-canal or joyfully remembering movie theatres with balconies, the commentaries are always 600-900 words long. Consistent, if nothing else.
